“Paula worked her magic. I felt like walking on air . Best facial I have had.”
“Had a rose facial and massage. Still feeling wonderful and would recommend Paula to my friends. She sure knows her stuff!!”
“As always Paula made me feel totally relaxed and welcome. Loving the new digs, managed to create an extremely chilled out space, which is surprising given the city centre location – works out perfectly if like me you’re travelling home by train, floated out of my facial onto the train where I promptly fell asleep!
The facial was amaaaazing – I haven’t been feeling too good lately and I can honestly say that was the best I’ve felt in a long time. Not just a facial but a neck and shoulder massage whilst the mask is on, brilliant – even get a wee hand massage into the bargain… actually was a bargain as well because Paula was doing a wee special during October.
Skin felt amazing; was slightly worried as I’ve had very sensitive skin lately but Paula simply adapted what she used and it was all good. Thank you so much, I now plan to have one a month as I enjoyed it so much Xx”
“I had a wonderful facial and felt calm and relaxed after .Paula made me feel special. Thanks.”

Cosmetic Acupuncture @ Health Rediscovered Glasgow
For thousands of years, the Chinese have known that beauty comes from the inside.
At least as early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) Acupuncture rejuvenation practices were employed for the Empress and the Emperor’s concubines. The Chinese discovered and utilised ways to change the energy flow within the body to initiate the healing process for rejuvenating the complexion.
Today, cosmetic acupuncture is gaining huge popularity with those wanting to take years off their face, without the risks of more invasive treatments.
Paula has enhanced her acupuncture practice by completing a post graduate course in “Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture”.
In addition to my anti-ageing acupuncture skills, I have completed training in ‘face life massage’ and also a course in natural, aromatherapy facials. This puts me in a unique position, as the only therapist in Glasgow combining knowledge and understanding of cleansers, toners, aromatherapy oils and massage techniques with the of anti-ageing power of acupuncture – creating a bespoke, effective, natural, healthy anti-ageing treatment.
Benefits of Facial Rejuvination Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture has received great press recently. Louise Redknapp, on the Channel 4 show called “How not to look Old”, described the acupuncture she received as one of the few things that had a lasting impact, along with changes to diet and facial yoga exercises; neither of the show’s presenters seem too impressed with the many other anti-ageing techniques they tried.
Changes may include:
- tightening of the pores
- brightening of the eyes
- minimising/elimination of fine lines
- improved muscle tone and dermal contraction
- relief of sinus congestion
- reduction in double chin
- balancing of facial colours
- reduction to bags and sags around the eyes
- reduction/elimination of puffiness
- collagen production increased.
A report in 1996 found that 90% of the 300 participants found marked improvements.
What to expect in your Sessions
The initial session begins with a comprehensive consultation during which Paula will ascertain your general health, along with a discussion of what you’d like to see change: before and after pictures can be taken if desired.
The treatment takes between 60 and 90. It begins with a cleanse of the face, using the Tropic smoothing cleanser, followed by a facial, neck, shoulder and scalp massage, using the very delicious Organic Elixir by Tropic Skincare. This is followed by the use of some traditional Chinese Medicine tools: cupping – which encourages lymphatic drainage, thus reducing bags and puffiness around the eyes and face. A tiger warmer is the final tool to be used, it is a stainless steel tube that once warmed with Moxa is massaged over the face, creating greater blood flow and a deeper relaxation of the facial muscles.
Once you are feeling more relaxed, the needles are inserted: both in parts of the body and facially, to look our best we must feel our best. Electro acupuncture may also be used at this point.
The first visit costs £68 and lasts up to 2 hours, for follow ups you have 2 options: standard, needle-only sessions for £43 or delux including massage/cupping/tiger warmer sessions for £63.
I would recommend that to get the best value for your treatments you commit to an initial 8 sessions over a 5 week period. This package can be bought here, with a 4-6 weekly follow up to maintain good health and the results gained.
