Spring feels like its finally on its way in damp Glasgow!
Mornings a wee bit brighter, snowdrops have made an appearance.
Many of us relish this time of year, energetically its the shift from Water to Wood. Wood is the energy of youth and growth: a new beginning, a vision of a whole new cycle. The Wood energy of spring is an expression of life at its strongest.
The wood element is all about growth, and like spring, a new beginning. It is about maximising our potential from seed to tree. It encourages our ability to make plans, and decisions, so use this time to make those wee changes to your life to maximise your potential to reinvent yourself.
1. Make Plans:
Take the time to imagine how you want your life to be: what you want your life to look like and begin making changes to make that happen. For me, I want meditation to become part of my daily life. so I’m setting my alarm 10 minute earlier and meditating before I’m even out of bed (I do sit up to make sure I don’t fall asleep again!)
2. Introduce regular movement to stay flexible (like bamboo):
Try the functional fitness class on a Wednesday evening at 5:30pm for just £1 (first time only), or go for a stroll
3. Begin new things – at home, in your work, and in yourself
In this season when nature reinvents itself, we too can see people and situations with new eyes. Let new tissue grow over old hurts, and take fresh hope. Be creative. Make things, do things. Begin!
4. Hydrate yourself:
Drink warm water and lemon, which encourages movement of Qi and clarity, making decisions easier to make and helps make changes smoother and more fluid.
5. Have a clear out:
Create calm and reduce chaos by having a spring clean and clear out: physically and mentally, let go of the old to let in the new.
